Transfiguring Landscapes: Postcard Series

These transformed materials from the landscape and industrial equipment references the past and resonates with thoughts about the movement of people from one area to another.  Items taken to and brought from countries, transforming countries, the introduction of plants etc. explored through the accident and determinist modes of production.

Sounds of nature and Song-line maps transferred through tradition.  Collected water from rivers, rain, snow, streams, wells, beaches and post-industrial sites are used and manipulated, allowed to freely flow across the surface.   Metaphors for travel, movement and the transference of material from one place to another:  seeds, microbes, plants, bacteria, fungi, organics and information.

Through forces of nature and artistic intervention pigments are reformed, exploring the creative space existing between thought and action.  Learning more about oneself and the marks we leave behind.
